    Pricing Materials using Area Rates

    Using Area Rates board materials, such as Carcass, is often priced by area.

     

    Tutorial: Material Area Pricing

    In this tutorial we will illustrate the functionality by pricing the Carcass area on a single Shelf Standard, with a width of 1000mm and a depth of 500mm. The material used is '_16mm Carcase White Panel'.

    Materials Manager

    First access Manager from either the Pricing > Material/Hardware page shown, or the Materials-Advanced > Manager page.

    Pricing > Material/Hardware page -  Click to Expand

    Pricing > Material/Hardware page -  Click to Expand

    Click on the Manage button and select the relevant material and price accordingly. In this example:-

    Details page, select Material to be priced  -  Click to Expand

    Pricing page, enter applicable price  -  Click to Expand

    A confirmation message will be presented as per the following example.

     

    Pricing/Markups page

    Ensure you have the Carcass ticked and any other required Categories.

    To designate the Sell price you need to set the Level Markup percentages.

     

    Report

    To test the effect of this process, run a Quantities report.

    Result: The area of the Shelf totals 0.5sqm at $10/sqm. Therefore the Cost price is $5.00.

     

    The above report shows only pricing details pertaining to this tutorial.

    Rounding during the calculation process can cause amounts to increase by a few cents.

    To calculate Sell price set Markup Percentages per category on the Pricing > Pricing/Markups page.
